Dyer Island Cruises is a licensed boat-based whale watching operator situated in Kleinbaai, near the world famous Dyer Island. On board Dream Catcher, guests might be fortunate enough to spot the Marine Big 5: whales, sharks, dolphins, seals and penguins.
Dyer Island Cruises operates around the world famous Dyer Island where you might be fortunate enough to see the Marine Big 5: Southern Right/Humpback/Bryde’s Whales, Great White Shark around the renowned Shark Alley, Cape Fur Seals, the endangered African Penguin and various visiting dolphin species. The area is also home t o a variety of seabirds. Our Southern Right Season is normally from June - December, but for the rest of the year we occasionally see Humpback and Bryde’s whales in our area. We have an on-board biologist and experienced crew who promise and educational, life-changing experience. From January - May all morning trips include coffee/tea and muffins on arrival and a light lunch after the trip. Guests doing an afternoon trip can enjoy a light lunch on arrival followed by warm soup and bread after the trip. During Southern Right season coffee/tea and muffins are served upon arrival followed by warm soup and bread afterwards. All trips include a dedicated safety and conservation briefing before departure and a debrief afterwards. We provide safety jackets and wet weather gear. After a short walk to the harbour we board custom designed vessel, Dream Catcher and the adventure will commence. All operations run from The Great White House in Kleinbaai and includes a licensed restaurant and bar, curio shop and clean toilet facilities. Quality trip footage can be bought and you will receive a downloadable link. A free visit to the African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary is also included. What must we bring?
Always bring warm clothing as it is cooler at sea than on land. Waterproof/windproof jackets are available on the boat. We will provide inflatable life jackets. Please remember to use sunscreen. Please use anti-seasick medication well in advance if you are prone to motion sickness.

No fitness levels required
The entire trip duration varies between 4 - 8 hours, depending if you take our transport from Cape Town. Time spent our at sea is 2 - 2.5 hours depending on sightings and sea conditions.
